For 2006: My 17 candles.
I was in the bathroom a while ago and you know how newspapers go in there, right? I was reading the Opinion part and Andrew Benedict Sy (ABSy haha! Wala lang..) wrote about something really interseting. He wrote 24 wishes because he's 24 years old already meaning he gets 24 candles. One wish per candle. It was really nice and,I thought I'd do the same.
1st candle:
I wish I could control things like anger, time, or myself.
2nd candle:
I really wish to have lots of money not for me but for others. I'd buy my closest friends all the things they desire but couldn't afford. Syempre di dapat aabuso. Hehe! I'd be also like Oprah with her charity works for the less fortunate.
3rd candle:
I wish to have lots of books to feed my mind with when I have nothing to do at home.
4th candle:
I wish to pass UP Fine Arts and actually do good in College. It's for y future. Youth is the future of the motherland.
5th candle:
I wish to live in Corinthian Gardens someday. It is so convenient 'cause it's in the middle. It is near Quezon CIty and Makati.
6th candle:
For my future: I wish to be successful. I still want that band, that beach resthouse, that coffee shop with lots of sunflowers outside, that fashion business, those paintings I'd be making; to be one of the designers in the Swarovski Fashion Rocks (hehe!); and, all that cash(again it's not all for me but for others, as well.)
7th candle:
I wish to complete the music instruments I want. The bass guitar is excluded already. Yey! :D ...and lots to go.
8th candle:
I wish to go back in time to say sorry to all those people I've hurt. It doesn't hurt to apologize and yet it's hard to lower our pride when we're in the moment. Regrets indeed always come in the end.
9th candle:
I wish for lots of hugs and kisses from my enemies or from those who're not OK with me or from those I've had or still have confusing relationships with, and the fact that we're going to be all right after.
10th candle:
I wish people (women especially) would see that they are all beautiful. Plastic surgeries, botox treatments, liposuctions, etc. should be banned.
11th candle:
I wish we all wouldn't be manipulated by money. It is just a piece of paper. Let us not be blinded by its value.
12th candle:
I wish I would spend more time doing things than dreaming them.
13th candle:
I wish I won't see another soul cry again just because a person dear to him/her forgot how we are all connected. People are like pebbles in a lake - when you move, you send ripples that are felt by others, specially the ones closest to you.
14th candle:
I wish I could refrain from laughing at others, but instead laugh with them.
15th candle:
I wish people (including me) would smile when they are really happy and cry when they are really sad, instead of doing the opposite.
16th candle:
I wish people would stop blaming the politicians for all our current predicament but instead look a little closer to home. Who voted for these politicians to power anyway? Not all politicians are screwed up. Believe me, I know a few.
17th candle:
I wish for the most sought-after wish of all: more wishes. (It was worth a shot. I felt I needed to try it. Hehe!)
Some of the wishes here are Andrew Benedict Sy's (ABSy! Hahaha.... Wala lang! ;) ). I wanted the same things.
I was in one Prosec Class one time and the topic was about wishes. Ms. Zeta shared us a story. To summarize the story, a boy went to heaven and St. Peter showed him a box of the things he wanted but never got. The reason he never got it was that he never asked. That's why God placed it in a box for him to enjoy it in Heaven.
What's sad about that story is that he never get the chance to enjoy those things when he was still alive just beacuse he never asked. Now, I'm still alive and, I have a gazillion chances to ask.
These are my wishes. I know people aren't going to give me these things. I'm asking God for these wishes. Maybe He'd be able to give it to me and not put it in a box for me to enjoy when I'm dead.
Happy New Year, guys! Let's make this different from the previous one. Well, a good different. I know I will.
Aloha,
